David shares his experience with education during COVID-19

David’s Story:

I did really enjoy it for the ten years I was at school. It was really good. I loved the teachers. I love socialising. I loved all my friends. I loved ... the breaks. Just socialising was probably one of the best things for me, which is what I loved most about it.

It was very, very different. We had to start homeschooling, which was alright, but it was just very different, very different compared to what we were used to. We still did the same sort of stuff just online, just a lot of sharing online.

But it was all the same, really; same work, same assignments. I had my mum, I had my nana and I had my support teachers to help me get through everything that I needed. So big thanks to them for helping me get through it.

I felt more isolated than what I did. Like a lot more isolated than not being able to go out and see my friends or anything. I just felt isolated.

I did really like going back to school, being in the class and seeing my friends again, that I really liked.
